Handmade Elegance: Jewelry & Art You Can Wear - Art From The Heart

Welcome to my store!  Pamela Gene Designs LLC is more than just jewelry!  I have always be a lover of art.  Now, I am finally able to use my artwork on functional products creating wearable art and artistically designed home decor to bring art into your everyday life. 

Many people may not know that the artwork was created before the jewelry was even a thought.

My artwork is a collection of collages.  Creating collage projects was an easy way to keep my preschool students actively attentive while teaching them about expressing themselves through art.  After I retired, I began creating collages to keep myself busy.   Always curious, I started creating spin art.  For those who don't know what spin art is; it is when you put splashes or dots of color (paint) on a surface and then  spinning the materials so that the paints blend and mix together.  After creating 4" x 4"  sized spin art in my salad spinner I wanted to use them in some way but was not sure what to do with them.  But I loved the way that they looked.  Actually, I became obsessed with creating the spin art!   After much thought, the the idea came to me to cut and arrange the spin art, gluing it on paper and mixing the artwork with card stock in coordinating colors.

From searching on the internet and using Canva, I learned that the collages could be digitalized.  I then began creating digital artwork.  I created thirteen collages and decided to take a break from creating them because I was not sure how to utilize them.  

Always being a curious person who loves to learn, I decided to learn how to make jewelry.

That is how I began designing jewelry.  I still love both!  Creating the artwork and creating jewelry.  So glad that I was able to find something that I loved to do in my retirement.  

Working on art is soothing and relaxing, It keeps your mind functional as you are always solving problems.  It is creative fulfillment!
